Stand-Up Paddleboarding
This year, the Valais Triathlon Festival is hosting a new SUP Challenge, featuring two popular Stand Up Paddle (SUP) races that are unique to Valais and open to everyone. In collaboration with SUPspirit Sion, Switzerland’s most successful club at the national level (four Swiss champions in 2025), we look forward to welcoming you for a magnificent sporting challenge on the Gouille des Îles, in the heart of the Valais Alps.
Grab your board and paddle, come meet Switzerland’s SUP elite, and hit the water for the race of your choice: the 2-km Easy Race (one lap around the lake) or the 8-km Hero Race (four laps around the lake).

Key facts
At the finish line, the competitors leave their boards in the water and run the last 50 meters with their paddles in hand.
Required equipment
Leash required on all boards and for all categories.
Life jacket, restube, or flotation device optional.
Failure to wear a leash will result in disqualification. Life jackets are mandatory for juniors.
Easy Race: Junior Girls (12–18) / Junior Boys (12–18) / Women 18+ / Men 18+
Hero Race: Junior Girls (12–18) / Junior Boys (12–18) / Women 18+ / Men 18+
Categories are valid if at least 3 competitors are registered; otherwise, the rankings will be based on the combined junior and adult scratch results. Kids under 12 can register for the Gégé Splash Race.
