Access

Valais and Sion are at the heart of Europe, just 3 hours by car or train from Lyon, Milan and Zurich, with fast connections to Geneva, Milan and Zurich airports.

REGISTRATIONS

Registrations can be made exclusively via the online platform at www.valaistriathlon.ch until Wednesday August 13, 2025. On-site registration will be possible from August 15 to 17, 2025 at the Domaine des Îles in Sion.

Races are open to all, licensed and non-licensed. Athletes without an annual license can purchase a daily license when registering.

Yes, it is possible to participate without a license for most races. For formats requiring a license (Half, Olympic, and Discovery), a Daily Pass can be purchased at registration.

If you have not received a registration confirmation, please check your spam folder. If the problem persists, please contact the organizer via the official website.

With the MAXI FLEX option, you can change course or transfer the race number to a third party until Thursday, August 09, 2025. Without the MAXI FLEX option, no changes are possible after August 07.

With the MAXIFLEX or ULTRAFLEX option, you can change course, transfer your race number or postpone your registration until August 7. Without these options, no changes are possible after July 16.

No, no medical certificate is required. However, we recommend that you consult your doctor regularly for a check-up.

People with disabilities are welcome to take part in the various race formats. When you register, you can tick the "disabled athlete" box and describe your disability and requirements. We'll then get in touch with you directly to make it easier for you to join us.

No, you don't have to be a member of Swiss Triathlon or a club to take part.

Yes, licenses from foreign federations are accepted for formats requiring a license.

The start list will be published on the official event website a few days before the race.

Number withdrawal

Bib numbers and welcome gifts must be collected from Friday to Sunday at least 1 hour before the start of the race. No race numbers or welcome gifts will be sent by post.

  • Pick-up voucher will be sent by e-mail a few days before the race,

  • Swiss Triathlon license or foreign license if you have one.

No, no bibs will be given to third parties. Each athlete must present himself/herself personally at the bib pick-up.

The pick-up point is at Domaine des Îles in Sion, close to the Bourgeoisie canopy. 46°12'45.9″N 7°20'02.1″E

Technical questions / equipment

No, on all formats (except children's races), participants can run the race with 2 or 3 other participants. Each participant must hand over the transponder to his or her team-mate in the change park.

The minimum age is 16 for the Olympic and Short formats, and 18 for the Half Triathlon.

Discovery from age 14,

Sunset Sprint Team from age 15,

1km crossing for 16 year-olds,

Swim & Run from age 16 with an adult partner, or from age 18 for the solo format.

Children are grouped by age category on adapted formats.

The obstacle course is open to all, with no age limit.

Yes, the races are open to everyone, whether you're a hare or a tortoise. 😊

No, but our security teams are there to look after the young athletes. 

Bike :

  • Half: 3 feed stations
  • Olympic no refreshments on the bike section
 

Running :

  • Half: 7 feed stations
  • Olympic: 1 feed station
 

There will be no refreshments for other races except at the finish.

Each refreshment station includes: isotonic drinks, water and coke, energy bars and gels. No water bottles will be distributed at the bike refreshment stations, so athletes are responsible for filling their own water bottles.

Races

Yes, neoprene wetsuits are authorized if water temperature is below 24°C.

No, electric bikes are not allowed

Yes, for all triathlon formats, athletes must arrive at the bike park entrance at the times indicated, with all their equipment and race number.

Drafting is strictly forbidden, and penalties may be imposed for non-compliance.

Motorized equipment, flippers, snorkels and floats are prohibited. Headphones are forbidden in all disciplines.

No, there are no bike rentals available on site.

No, it's not possible to rent a wetsuit on site. What's more, if you plan to buy one for the race, we strongly recommend that you do so well in advance, so that you can test it several times before the big day.

Road, triathlon and time trial bikes are permitted. Electric and other motorized bicycles are prohibited.

It is tolerated on "Fun" formats, but forbidden on all "Sport" formats.

There is no on-site repair service, but tools are available.

Mobile toilets are available in the transition area, at the swim start and on the run course. It is strictly forbidden to urinate outside the toilets.

Swimrun

Neoprene wetsuits are permitted regardless of water temperature, and are mandatory in water temperatures below 16°C (legs and torso in one piece).

Not at all. We offer several distances so that we can offer the discipline to as many people as possible, whatever their level (Experience total distance 7km, Sprint total distance 17km).

No. Both courses (Experience and Sprint) can be completed solo as well.

Yes, there is the following classification:

TEAM mixed / women / men and SOLO women / men.

No. But most participants use them to gain speed and economy in the swimming sections. The only rule is that "all equipment present at the start must be present at the finish". In other words, no equipment may be left on the course or with a third party during the race.

Shoes are part of the equipment and must be worn throughout the race, including the swimming sections. If you're not used to this type of running, we advise you to wear comfortable shoes that you're used to running in, as well as socks to avoid chafing and blisters.

There is no obligation to tie up during a team. To avoid accidents, however, it is forbidden to tie up during the first swim.

No, neither document is necessary. However, it is compulsory to be familiar with the course and the difficulties/length of the race, so as to be able to assess your own ability to take part.
